Data recovery in Rome

English spoken. If a drive has stopped working, switch it off and leave it alone. Every further attempt to power it up, and every piece of recovery software run over a failing disk, can turn a recoverable fault into a permanent loss.

Roma Informatica runs a data recovery laboratory in Rome with a cleanroom, which is what makes it possible to open a mechanical hard drive without destroying what is inside it.

What we recover

Hard drives

Clicking or grinding noises, drives that are no longer detected, disks that have been dropped or simply will not spin up.

USB sticks and memory cards

Snapped connectors, cards that suddenly ask to be formatted, drives the computer no longer reads.

SSDs

Controller failures and drives that disappear from the system without warning. Solid state does not mean safe from loss.

Smartphones

We recover the data by repairing the phone. The work is charged as data recovery, not as a phone repair.

NAS and RAID

Broken arrays, more than one failed drive, Synology and QNAP units, server volumes.

Deleted or formatted data

Files deleted by mistake, drives that were reformatted, reinstalls that went wrong.

How it works

1. Bring the device in or send it to us. Shipping is by courier, at the customer’s expense in both directions.
2. We examine it and tell you what can realistically be recovered and what it will cost.
3. You decide. Nothing is opened, imaged or worked on beyond the assessment without your approval.
4. We recover the data, in the cleanroom when the fault requires the drive to be opened.
5. You get your files back on a new drive, which stays yours.

You do not have to be in Rome

Data recovery is the one thing we do that does not depend on where you are. Drives reach us by courier from all over Italy and from abroad, and go back the same way once the recovery is finished.

If you are shipping a mechanical drive, pack it as though it were glass and do not let anyone try to open it first. Most of the truly unrecoverable cases we see were made unrecoverable by an earlier attempt.

Confidentiality

Your files are yours. We look at them only as far as the technical work requires — enough to confirm that what has been recovered actually opens — and nothing leaves the laboratory. If the data is sensitive, say so and we will handle the job accordingly.
